Peanut Butter Blondie with Chocolate Frosting

Today, I am sharing a really easy blondie cake to make. It looks pretty, and it is very rich. I got my recipe from www.howtocakeit.com . There are a lot of really good recipes, on her website, so check that out. You can find the recipe for the blondies here

So the ingredients are flour, white sugar, butter, peanut butter, eggs brown sugar, and vanilla. For my frosting, I used Duncan Hines Chocolate Frosting.

You start out by melting the butter (the recipe says to do it over a small saucepan, but I used the microwave) and melt the butter. Once the butter is almost melted, then add your peanut butter. If you are doing this in the microwave, I melted the butter in 15-30 second intervals, and I didn't completely melt my butter.

I added my peanut butter, then stirred it until it was all combined. Then I added my brown sugar, white sugar, and whisked it all together.

I then added my eggs. I was all out of vanilla, so I omitted that. After the eggs were incorporated, I then  folded in my flour.

I used two 9 inch circle pans. I had to double the recipe that is on the website, because I had two pans, not one. I lined my pans with parchment paper and baked them at 350 for 25-30 minutes. You really have to let this cool, to prevent it from cracking. I tried taking one of the blondies out, and it cracked a little. I used that for my top layer, so it worked out, but be really careful taking the blondies out of the pans. If you have a spingform pan, that will work great. I filled my piping bag with the chocolate frosting, and filled my cakes with it. I had a little bit left, so I piped little dollops on top of the cake. Or rather, the blondies. It looked a little incomplete, so I sprinkled some rainbow sprinkles on top. That really made it look nice. I'm done! This is a really easy recipe to make, and the blodnies are very rich. Enjoy!

Blue and White Swirl Cake

So here it is....my first real cake decorating video and post! I made chocolate cake, filled with chocolate icing, and covered in blue and white flowers and stars. This cake looks a little hard to make, but in reality is very easy ! To start out, I baked two nine inch chocolate cakes, let them cool, and leveled them using my cake leveler. Then I filled and stacked them. I used store bought icing to fill the cake. More info on that below. I finally crumb coated them and put them in the freezer to chill for 15 minutes. For this cake, I made some American buttercream, and dyed half of it blue. I used some blue food coloring I had on hand, and probably put about 5-6 drops of in in my buttercream. I was worried I would not have enough buttercream to pipe on the outside of my cake if I were to fill it with my buttercream. So instead of filling my cake with the buttercream, I used a can of chocolate store bought icing I had in the pantry. So I filled and crumb coated my cakes wi...

Snickerdoodles

Since Fall is here, I thought I would post a fall themed recipe. So I usually use the recipe I have in my Betty Crocker cookbook, but today I wanted to try something different. I went online and found this recipe from Cookies and Cups, so check out her blog. I think I will probably use the Betty Crocker recipe, so I will tell you more about that at the end of this post. As usual when creaming butter and sugar, you really want to make sure you do it well. I think I creamed mine for at least 3 minutes. More time, such as 5 minutes, would be even better. Once the butter is all creamed together with the sugars, you are going to add your egg and egg yolk one at a  time.   Before we mix the eggs, we are going to add our baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, cinnamon, and vanilla. I didn't include the clip of me adding the baking soda because I didn't want you to get it confused with the cream of tartar, but don't worry, I added it. So once all of that is is ...
